Obituary of Dolores Verbus

Dolores Verbus (nee Kanapky), 88, peacefully passed away on March 10, 2024. She was born on March 26, 1935, in Georges Township, PA to the late John and Anna (Pluto) Kanapky. Dolores worked as a bookkeeper for her husband’s construction business, dedicating her time and skills to support their shared endeavors.

Dolores is survived by her loving husband Nick Verbus, her children Nick (Eileen) Verbus, Richard (Marilyn) Verbus, Andy Verbus, and Cathy (Tom) Hohs, her sister Madelyn (Frank) Hancher, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sister Catherine Tillman, and brothers Andrew Kanapky and Thomas Kanapky. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love of those who went before her.

Dolores will be remembered for her warm smile, her lasting marriage of 68 years to her high school sweetheart, Nick, and the love she shared with her family.

The family will be holding a private service to honor and celebrate her life.
