Obituary of Jeannine Elizabeth Strombeck

Jeannine Elizabeth Strombeck (89) passed away peacefully in Tampa, Florida on April 4,2024.

Born in Ft Wayne Indiana on February 22, 1935, to parents John and Cecile Deeter nee (Pio). Jeannine grew up in the greater Ft. Wayne area, graduating from Southside High school. While Jeannine was working as a telephone operator, she met and later married Eugene Resor. They raised three children: Eugene, Renee, and William.

Through her love of travel, she embraced a life of wonder and adventure while enjoying the beauty the world had to offer. Trips to the national parks out west were amongst her favorite experiences. Jeannine also loved to let loose among the bright lights of Las Vegas, soaking in the glitz and glamor while freeing her wild side.

After 50 years in the Ft. Wayne area, Jeannine moved to sunny Venice Isles Estates in Florida, to be near her sister and mother that were already there. She began this next chapter of her life with Richard (Red) Strombeck by her side. She was active in the community, making many friends. A frequent sight at local bingo halls, Jeannine was always up for an afternoon of Mahjong or a game of Hand & Foot with the girls.

Jeannine leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and cherished memories among family and friends alike. Jeannine will be fondly remembered for her kindness, compassion, words of encouragement and her sense of humor.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Suncoast Hospice for their compassionate care and support during Jeannine’s final days.

Jeannine is survived by her daughter Renee Causey (Chris) of Tampa, FL; half-brothers John Deeter (Sharon) and Charles Deeter (Charlotte); half-sisters Marie Kempel (Marvin) and Gwen Pace (Mike); eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her ex-husbands Eugene Resor and James Richard Strombeck, her parents, her sister Donna Schmidt; her son William Resor; and her son Eugene Resor.

A celebration of life will be held over the summer in Ft. Wayne Indiana for family and friends, where she will be laid to rest alongside her ex-husband Eugene J. Resor and sons William and Eugene.
