Elbert Robinson

Obituary of Elbert Stanley Robinson

Elbert Stanley Robinson, age 91, of Tampa, Florida, peacefully went home to be with Jesus on June 29, 2023. He was born on March 20, 1932, in Lee, Florida, to Errol Stanley Robinson and Mary Syvilla Stokes.

Elbert proudly served his country as a Private First Class in the United States Army. His time in the military was a testament to his patriotism and dedication.

In 2014, Elbert experienced the loss of his beloved wife, Marilyn Sassen Robinson, who preceded him in death. Their love and companionship created a strong foundation for their family.

Elbert was a father to his five children, Linda Robinson, Janet Taylor, Carol Simms, Barbara Weiner, and Eddie Robinson. His role as a father brought him immense joy and fulfillment. He took pride in guiding his children through life's challenges and celebrating their accomplishments.

With a growing family, Elbert became a cherished grandfather to 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Their presence brought him immeasurable happiness and he delighted in witnessing each generation flourish.

Elbert had a passion for fishing, a hobby that he cherished throughout his life. However, his love for Jesus surpassed all else. He shared his faith through joyful songs and jokes, blessing everyone he encountered with his infectious spirit.

Elbert possessed a natural talent for fixing things, despite the humorous tendency to unintentionally break more than he repaired. He had a thrifty nature, never wasting anything that might have a future use. His collection of plasticware became a testament to his resourcefulness.

In his last days, you could often see Elbert completing puzzles on his iPad.

In his youth, Elbert excelled as a bowler, accumulating numerous trophies and accolades. His competitive spirit and skill on the lanes were sources of pride and achievement.

The memory of Elbert Stanley Robinson will forever be etched in our hearts. His love, laughter, and unwavering faith will continue to inspire us as we carry on his legacy.

A funeral service to celebrate Elbert's extraordinary life will be held on July 7, 2023, Florida Mortuary, 4601 North Nebraska Avenue, Tampa, Florida.
