Marta Lazo

Obituary of Marta E. Lazo

Our mother, Marta Elsa Lazo was born in Bejucal, Cuba. She was one of four children. Our dad, Ernesto Lazo was the love of her life. They had four children Ernesto Jr, Julio, Martha and Machi.  Our mother along with our father came to this country during a difficult time in Cuba. They worked tirelessly to provide for their kids and also welcome other families that needed help during their transition to the United States. Our mom was a lovely lady that loved unconditionally. She was a caretaker at heart. She worked in several hospitals as a nurse’s aid and also took care of elderly people in their homes and ours. She was a strong proud Cuban woman who left her family behind in Cuba and sacrificed everything for the love of her family.  The good Lord gave us the gift of having our mom for 95 years. She is now at peace and back in the arms of our dad and family.  May God bless her beautiful soul.  She was beautiful inside and out and lived a beautiful long life. She was an amazing cook and a champion chancletta thrower.

Marta was preceded in death by her husband and our father, Ernesto Lazo. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brother and sisters.

She is survived by her four children and their spouses Ernesto Lazo Jr, Julio and Marta, Martha and Richard, Machi and Michael. Her grandchildren and their spouses, Ernesto III and Dawn, Julio Jr, Joseph and Lisa, Vanessa, Joe, Antoinette and Marc and 16 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her loving sister in Cuba, Ofelia.
