Obituary of Stephen A. Daly
The Year was 1961
The Yankees won the World Series; JFK was President, and two popular TV shows were Bonanza and Perry Mason. However, the most anticipated event was the birth of the third child of John and Annie Daly. He arrived on December 19, 1961 and was named Stephen Alvin Daly.
Stephen was always full of energy. As a child he took violin and trumpet lessons. He tried his skills at guitar, drums, and the keyboard. He collected Lionel trains and musical instruments. He attended Public Schools in his hometown of Brooklyn. He was among the first class of students in the new Edward R. Murrow high school.
He entered the Navy in 1978 and became a member of the elite submarine corp. After bootcamp he was stationed in Hawaii. He traveled the world literally under the oceans with stops in South Korea, Japan, and parts of Europe. He retired from the Navy as a Petty Officer Submariner Yeoman, third class. Stephen worked at MBNA America as a Systems Analyst technician. Later in his career he did freelance work as an IT Technician.
Stephen inherited his father’s skill at being able to creatively fix anything. He built computers and remodeled homes. Stephen was a car and motorcycle enthusiast. His special project was his “Vette”, a sleek black Corvette that he was rebuilding.
He married Natalie Chesson on October 30, 2013. Natalie passed away in April 2016. In 2016, Stephen relocated to North Tampa Heights, FL. Stephen is survived by his two sisters -Iris and Loretta; his two children- John and Stephanie; three grandchildren; one nephew- Kier and two nieces- Kinda and Laurelle, and many friends.
Lovingly submitted by the family.
