Momma’s Obituary

Carolyn Joy Fritz (Duff) passed away peacefully on October 12, 2022 at home (her most favorite place), surrounded by people and puppy love.  She is survived by her loving life partner-spouse, Charlotte Brubaker, her devoted son, Scott, daughter-in-law, Anna Ruth, grandchildren, and light of her life, Natasha and Reese (Taylor), stepson, Billy (Rhonda), wonderful nieces and nephews, and loving friends. 

Joy was a licensed Mental Health Counselor in private practice and worked extensively with the HIV community.   She was also a Special Education teacher.  Most importantly, she was the best mother a son could ever ask for and the beacon for our family.  Love you momma. 

Joy’s passions included travel, dancing, political activism, her dogs (and all other dogs), and cooking for family and friends. 

The Celebration of Joy’s life will be held on November 12, 2022 at Lowry Park Pavilion 120 at 11am.

No flowers please.  In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to the Tampa Human Society or Life Path Hospice.
