Obituary of Jeannie Upton

In Memory of Jeannie Upton

1948-2021

Jeannie Upton passed away peacefully surrounded by family and her dog, Emma. Grateful and thankful to Melech Hospice House for her care and comfort.

She was born in Hong Kong in 1948. Dad and mom Ho immigrated to USA where dad Ho made a career in the U.S. Air Force. He moved with the family where duty called for his services, finally settling at MacDill Air Force Base in South Tampa until his retirement.

Jeannie loved family and was dedicated to her husband and two sons. They enjoyed outdoor life, fishing and camping a lot. They also took cruises to locations that involved outdoor activities.

She loved her brothers and sisters. Being the third oldest of 12 family members, she helped the younger ones growing up. And when they became parents, she shared in their children’s milestone events.

Jeannie adopted another big family- the Boy Scouts. She began as a volunteer and troop leader with her husband. Her sons joined on as scouts. They all gave countless hours. Eventually, she became employed with the Boy Scouts of America organization. Her many talents, hard work and love of people kept her happily busy for over 30 years.

She also loved animals, especially her dogs and ferrets. They were her family too. She will be missed every day. Many fond memories of times spent with Jeannie bring lots of smiles on many faces and warmth to many hearts.
