Obituary of Robertson G. Johnson

Robertson G. (Rob) Johnson (age 48) passed away Friday evening, February 7, 2020.  He was born on February 1, 1972, and was a lifelong Tampa resident.  Predeceased by his son, Lucas Knight, he is survived by his beloved wife, Crystal Anne Johnson, his daughter Savannah Knight Oswandel (Anthony), his parents Norris and Paul Johnson, his sister Elizabeth Riefler (Doug), his brother Victor, his niece Ashley, two nephews Bryce and Coltrane, his uncle John Taylor (Linda), his mother-in-law Edie Hanley, and his father-in-law John Carter, and many cousins.

Rob is remembered for his kindness to his many friends, his fun sense of humor, and his love for the Tampa Bay Lightning and all things FSU.  Rob loved trivia, and worked as a trivia host for several years.  He also enjoyed playing Fantasy Football and video games.  He liked Star Wars and Star Wars memorabilia.  Rob played drums and enjoyed playing tunes on the piano, when he thought no one was listening.

A celebration of Rob’s life will be held on Saturday, February 29, at 2 PM, at St. Catherine’s Episcopal Church at 502 Druid Hills Road, Temple Terrace, FL.  A reception will follow, in the Parish Hall.  In lieu of flowers, friends are invited to contribute to the American Diabetes Association or to the Memorial fund of St. Catherine’s Church.
