Dearest family and friends of Rick - Rick was my best friend through Junior High and High school. We were inseparable. I cherish the years we spent together, surfing at Sebastian, our summer together in Chapala, Mexico, and best of all just hanging out at the "AB Pier" in Atlantic Beach. Those memories mean even more now in the passing of my dear friend. My deepest condolences to Kathy and the rest of the family. Thank God for the time you had Ricky and thank you all for sharing him with all of us. God Bless you all.

Oh Rick, I can't believe you are gone. We reconnected on facebook about a year ago and remembered so much of the influence you had early on in my career in video production. You gave me my 'break' to prove I could do graphics, and you taught me so much. You were the first person to teach me about integrity...I remember this because I had to go and look it up in the dictionary to see what it meant. You were a wise one who always pushed me to work harder than I was, and for that I thank you as it made me the person I am today. I remember hours and hours of working on demo reels and everything else. I will always remember you when I hear 'Pure Energy' 'Wild Boys' or 'Groove is in the Heart'...Rest in Peace, you are gone from this earth, but will never be forgotten as you influenced so many.

Rick was my uncle and I will never forget the many memories of him.. like the time we all went tubing on his speed boat or when he took the time to edit a video of me synchronize swimming for a project. No matter what he was always one to help others and had an incredible sense of humor. He will be greatly missed, may he live on through the wonderful memories that we have of him. Best wishes, Toni

Ohhh Rick..... I need to thank you for the dear friendship I found in you. You always picked me up when I was down, cheered along with me when I was funny, and bolstered my ego when I was feeling so very alone. I was so excited to look on FB and see your posts. I knew you wanted to go to Monhegan Island- and the weird chance for me to go came up- Perhaps I went there for you. I saw the beautiful sights on the small island, and I thought of you always. I couldnt wait to come home to tell you about it. Im so sorry I couldnt post the pictures that night. The ride back on top of the ferry was so cold, but as the sun set while headed for land I was comforted and warm. I will miss you very much. Kathy and your dogs and family have my deepest sympathies. You will be missed and thought of often

Dear Kathy, I am so very sorry. You are and will remain in my thoughts and prayers. Like everyone else on this guestbook, I am deeply saddened and at a loss of words. Uncle Ricky will always be remembered for his larger than life personality, quick wit and his honesty. I loved that about him. I will always cherish the memories that I have of him when I was growing up and the time he spent with me, Missy, Kim and Denise. He always made us feel special and we loved the attention that he gave us. I will always be proud of his accomplishments but most of all proud that he was my Uncle Ricky. We love you Kathy and our family will always be here for you. Love, Dana

To my one and only brother. Where do I begin Rick? It will be two weeks this coming Friday and I am still in disbelief as well as the rest of your family, relatives and friends. You were the best brother, son, husband, uncle and friend to all of us and for that we thank you. You and your beloved wife Kathy were a great team and she will always be a part of our family along with Yogi and Benny. Rick, just know that you were loved and respected by so many people. I was proud to have you as my brother. You were and still are the rock of our family and will be missed but never forgotten. Your memory will live on forever. I know you are at peace. Please say hello to Dad and Laura for us and we will see each other again. PS. I saw a falling star the other night and the other day a double rainbow; I know it was a sign from you that you are okay and for us to carry on with our lives. It won't be the same not having you here on earth with us but I feel your presence each and everyday. Good night my brother and rest well. Love you Mr. Peanut, Nancy

I always enjoyed talking with Rick. He had an incredible sense of humor and always made me laugh. Working with Rick was like not working. We'd sit around and talk, joke, bitch, laugh, reminisce and the whole time his fingers never left the keyboard - wrapping up killer projects in record time - time and time again. He was always there to help. Always there to give advice. Quick to give you compliments and admiration... I'm going to miss my friend. Kathy, God bless and peace in this terrible time of sadness. Remember that Rick was loved by so many. He was truly an amazing man.

Rick was smart and clever, especially when humor was involved. Not to mention a smart and clever editor. My friendship with him was all too short - almost 20 years - and the time we spent together in the edit suite, or at the ADDYs, or over a drink or three, was just never enough. I couldn't have enjoyed his company any more, unless there were two of him. But there wasn't. There was only one Rick Bennett, and my life will forever be richer for knowing him. God bless you, Kathy, for keeping him around as long as you did. Love and peace to you, as Rick sails off into the universe.

Thanks for being a loyal customer for so many years, Rick. You were always appreciative of my efforts, and I was always so grateful when you shared that appreciation with me. And more recently, you were always so receptive to my musical endeavors...pumping me up with inspiring words about my work every time I sent a CD your way. That meant more to me than you could imagine. I'm going to miss your physical presence in this world, but that warm spirit you shared with us all will stay with me for as long as I live. My condolences to Kathy, and to the rest of your family. God Bless You...

Rick - kindred spirit, mentor, and friend. I will be forever grateful to you for believing in me, for giving me a home at Naked Eye, for being my family, and for the creativity you inspired and nurtured in us all. So many memories flood my mind and fill my eyes with tears realizing your time here has come to an unmistakably early end. You made all of our lives richer and there is a void left in your absence. You are dearly missed, though there is comfort knowing you are out there in the abyss, swimming with the stars and answering all the unknowns and what-ifs. See you in the afterlife (or next life), my friend! Thank you for sharing your presence and love in this one.

As someone who helped me become skilled at my work from a completely inexperienced novice, I'll forever be thankful for his patience, professionalism and desire to do the best work every time. As a friend, you couldn't find better. As a husband, you couldn't find more loving. And as a man, love him like a brother. I'll miss you and hope you're off to something even better! XO

Rick, In two days it will be the one year anniversary of your passing. It has been a sad, difficult year in which every day has seemed wrong, off balance and just completely strange. I miss you so much and I wish I could have you back. You were so good to me in all the ways that counted. I want you to know I will always love you. Thank you for all the ways -- big and small -- you helped me this year. I pray you have settled into eternity surrounded by God's constant love. Your loving wife.
